How it works, and privacy
Short version: nothing is stored. The card lives in the link. Anyone with the link can open it.
What a QARDD is
A greeting card that is a tiny game. You pick an occasion and one of three games, then write who it's for, who it's from and a message. The game is made for that one person: their name is in it, and winning it opens your message.
The games take well under a minute and are always winnable. There is no game over and no timer to beat. Missing just keeps it going. Every card has a Just show me the message button for anyone who would rather read than play.
Where your card lives
Inside the link. When you press Make my link, your browser packs the card (game, occasion, names, message) into a short code, compresses it and puts it at the end of the link after #c=. The part after the # is called the fragment. Browsers don't send it to the website when they load a page, so our server never receives your card.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No cookies, no analytics, no trackers, no ads.
- No database. We can't read, list, change or delete cards, because we never have them.
- Anyone with the link can open it. The link is the card, so share it only with the person it's for.
- It lasts as long as the link does. If the link is cut short when it's copied, the card can't be opened. Ask the sender for it again.
The fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them when a page loads. That request never includes your card.
